In recent years, Costa Rica has begun to experience an influx of foreign investors looking for vacation, semi-retirement and investment properties in this magnificent country. The simple fact is that with the aging of Americans and the baby boom generation starting to reach early retirement years they are buying vacation and second homes everywhere in the United States in record numbers especially bordering the coasts.

The simple fact is that almost every bit of coastline property World Wide is becoming overcrowded and overpriced. This scarcity of ocean front property has contributed to the high level of interest in Costa Rica because it offers beautiful property in a safe, democratic country that recognizes ownership rights just like in the United States.

The Guanacaste Region or “Gold Coast” as it is often referred to offers some of the best value and opportunities in Real Estate in Costa Rica. The nearby airport of Liberia only started direct flights three years ago with 50,000 people while in 2005 that number has increased to over 300,000; expect near 400,000 in 2008. The exposure that the Guanacaste region and Costa Rica has received recently is only the beginning and will continue for the near future.

The Route to Punta Playa Vistas
Nestled in this haven amidst luxurious foliage and just minutes from the brilliant white-sand beach of Playa Real. The Liberia International airport (LIR) is located under one hour from the property. Many of the major airlines offer both direct and connecting flights to this airport such as Continental, Delta, American and United. The domestic airport in Tamarindo( TNO) is just a short 25 minute drive away has a paved landing strip amidst picturesque fields for commuter and private planes.

Air: From Costa Rica’s main airport in the capital city of San Jose (SJO) you can take a 45 minute flight via SANSA (www.flysansa.com) or Nature Air (www.natureair.com) to either Liberia or Tamarindo’s domestic airport. There are also several chartered planes departing daily from San Jose providing travel to nearby Tamarindo

By car rental: Both Liberia and San Jose airports offer car and SUV rentals from all the major car rental companies such as Budget and Hertz. It is recommended to rent an SUV if you plan on doing a lot of driving and also if you plan on driving in from San Jose. The drive from San Jose is approximately 3 ½ hours along the highway and over the new Taiwanese bridge thru Puntarenas.
